Below is an interview with Kandyse McClure (Dualla) where she talks about Aaron ....

Kandyse McClure Interview
Friday, 30 January 2009
By Kenn Gold & Shaun Daily

Shaun: Do you have an Aaron Douglas story? Everybody I've talked to from Battlestar seems to have one.

Kandyse: That's dangerous! (laughs).

Shaun: I see Aaron a lot here in Vegas, he comes here like every weekend.

Kandyse: He loves Vegas. How much time does he spend in Vegas? Well, this might be a bit embarrassing for both of us. But it happened. At the wrap party for the mini-series we were at a restaurant, and we really didn't know each other very well then. I remember Aaron had these Hunter S. Thompson-esque gold sunglasses. They were so Vegas, and the loudest shirt you've ever seen in your whole life. We were watching the gag reel and you just hear this voice from the back of the crowd. "Look at her eyes, she's fucking gorgeous, look at her eyes!" You turn around and there's Aaron Douglas. I understand it was a compliment, but I was like, "Oh God! Who is this person?" It's a good story because Aaron and I have come to be really good friends over the years. He actually understands me a great deal more than I understand myself sometimes. For as grumpy as he can be, he is excessively charming, that Mr. Douglas.

Kenn: You mentioned a wrap party, I think it was on Sci Fi Wire, or one of the interviews you did last week, you said you didn't get to go to the series wrap party. Was that because you were somewhere else filming, or what?

Kandyse: Yes, and I totally should have clarified that. I was invited. I think it was an American bank holiday that weekend and different people were out of town. So they moved the date a couple of times, and I had been booked for a convention in Australia a little while before that. It just ended up being bad timing. I was in Australia with Jules Staite and Nichelle Nichols, and I got to miss the party unfortunately. But the producers of the convention were really sweet. They got me a huge Battlestar cake. I should put those pictures up because they are really classic. They got me a huge cake with the Battlestar emblem on it, and I got to be there with Nichelle Nichols. They called a bunch of the cast and got them to leave messages. They played their messages from the wrap party for me while I was in Australia. So I heard from Michael Trucco, Aaron Douglas and Tahmoh Penikett. They were at the party kind of screaming into their cell phones so I felt like I was there.

TORONTO--One of the most star-studded events at this year's Toronto International Film Festival featured a green carpet, not a red one.

Eco-activist, Tzeporah Berman, one of the founders of ForestEthics, launched her latest effort to save the planet, PowerUP Canada, a new citiizen's initiative to combat global warming, September 10th during the middle of Toronto's big movie party, and some of Canada's highest profile media, eco, and screen celebs showed up to add their two recyclable cents.

At the Power Up! launch party at the Gladstone Hotel, PowerUP literally rolled out a green carpet as reporters quizzed guests on their latest projects and their commitment to stop global warming while paparazzi paparazzed.Green carpet guests at the Gladstone ranged from Charles Martin Smith, director of TIFF's closing gala film, Stone of Destiny to civil right lawyer, Clayton Ruby. Battlestar Galactica's "Chief" Aaron Douglas, handled the emcee duties as Berman-the founding exec director-rallied the packed bar with a twenty minute speech about the importance of putting and keeping climate change at the top of Canada's political agenda.

There's an ongoing buzz that Battlestar Galactica's second half of the fourth and final season will be delayed as speculations arise that it would wrap up in June 2009, which would have it starting somewhere around April. Several pop culture sites, including io9 and Galactica Sitrep, have reported the holdup but the Sci Fi Channel has now debunked the rumor.

Compelled to disprove the delay, a spokesman from the network said that Battlestar Galactica is “still slated to return January 2009.” The network is also calling the rumors, which reportedly spawned from comments made by Battlestar Galactica cast member Aaron Douglas at Dragon*Con, “inaccurate.”

During Sunday's Dragon*Con, Douglas, who plays Chief Tyrol on the science fiction drama, hinted that the final episodes of the fourth season of Battlestar Galactica may air as late as April. Additionally, he said that “the Sci Fi Network sucks,” which got him a huge applause from the convention's audience.

“Ten episodes is not a season,” Douglas said at the time.

Battlestar Galactica cast members Michael Hogan (Saul Tigh), Richard Hatch (Tom Zarek), and James Callis (Dr. Gaius Baltar) seemed to echo their co-star's sentiments. In an earlier panel, Edward James Olmos (William Adama) riffed on the split saying, “Of course they didn't pay us for five seasons.”

In case you're not aware, season four was originally slated for 13 episodes but was extended to 22 installments, which included a two-hour movie. The series finale is said to be a tear-jerker, according to science adviser, Kevin Grazier.

“I don't know anyone who hasn't cried after reading the final episode script,” Grazier said.

Battlestar Galactica also stars Grace Park as Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, Jamie Bamber as Lee "Apollo" Adama, Katee Sackhoff as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, Mary McDonnell as Laura Roslin and Tricia Helfer as Number Six, just to name a few.

Unfortunately it is only teeny tiny size on their website:(

An excerpt from the wired.com BSG article ...

--------------------------------------------
Frak is back, big time
Characters spew BSG's signature F word four times in the season opener's first three minutes. But don't expect the Chief to use the expletive any time soon. Aaron Douglas, the actor who plays Chief Petty Officer Galen Tyrol, told Wired.com that he vows never to utter frak on camera. Too bad he's used it at home: While taking pots out of a kitchen cabinet, Douglas says, some kitchenware fell directly on his foot. Gut reaction? "Frak!"

Source: http://www.wired.com/entertainment/hollywood/news/2008/04/bsg_preview
--------------------------------------------

Is that true? I know the Chief has said frakking, mother-frakker, frak wit. But has the Chief never said frak? Really? Hmmmm, I think this needs a little investigating. Off to rewatch scenes of the Chief.

EDIT: Here's all the mentions of frak-isms by the Chief. I stopped checking once I found an actual frak.

1x07: Six Degrees of Separation - "Frak it"  [Note: He was mumbling it. So I'll let him get away with that one]
2x01: Scattered - "That's it. That's it, you stupid, frakked-up crap!"
2x02: Valley of Darkness - "Mother-frakker"
2x08: Final Cut - "You know what? Frak the camera. You've been riding by crews ass for no frakking reason"
2x09: Flight of the Phoenix - "Did she fill you in on the rest of the plan? She and I were going to muster out at the end of our service. You know, then we would get married. Maybe we would have children. I guess I'm just a big frakkin' idiot, though, huh? Probably that goddamn toaster's plan all along"
2x09: Flight of the Phoenix - "(in his head) Frak it. Why not?"

And from tonight's episode ...
4x01: He That Believeth In Me - "Get the frak in there, go kill something"
4x01: He That Believeth In Me - "Anders! Get the frak in your Viper!"

EDIT (2):  In Aaron's defence (because I asked him about this) He said that he gave them that quote back in season one. And as you can see, he never said it in season one. Aaron FTW :)

On the day the Entertainment Weekly article came out, Aaron sent me a copy of the article. I posted it on here and battlestar_blog  and then changed my mind and took it down because I didn't want to get Aaron in trouble for sending it to me. But a few people saw it before I deleted my post and reposted the image online.

I just saw that the same image (because it has the exact same file name as the one Aaron sent me) has been posted on Tricia Helfer's Official website. So I guess it means it's ok for me to post it. So here it is. This is a much higher quality than the magazine scans that you saw previously.

And if you're interested in making LJ icons, wallpapers, etc. The Czech Republic BSG fan website have taken this image and photoshopped out the blue line down the middle and the red dots.

There are spoilers for the end of season 3 and spoilers for season 4.
Do not read the article if you want to stay spoiler free.

"San Diego airport, Monday July 30th. I approached the two guys at the head of the looooong Air Canada line to ask if I could cut in due to the torn ligaments in my foot that make standing for long periods of time very unpleasant. Realized at the last second that it was Aaron Douglas, aka Chief Tyrol from Battlestar Galactica. Obviously we were both returning to our home and native land after attending Comic-Con. He and his buddy very kindly let me stand with them after seeing my cane, and Aaron told the woman marshalling the line that I was his friend. He definitely gets my vote for sweetest Cylon!"

Apparently there is a photo (and article) of Aaron and Jamie Bamber in the Saturday Sat/Sun Jan 20-21 edition of USA Today The Wall Street Journal on page P2. I live in Australia so I won't get to see it. I've just emailed some friends in the USA begging them to go out and find me a copy. So if you live in the USA, go out and find yourself a copy of it and make me jealous :)

EDIT: I've been told by friends in the USA that there is no such thing as a Saturday edition of USA Today. A friend that has the Friday edition of USA Today which is the "weekend" edition (covering Friday - Sunday) said that there is no mention of Aaron and Jamie. Let me find out what's going on and I'll get back to everyone.

EDIT: I've been told that it's The Wall Street Journal (Sat/Sun Jan 20-21) edition, not USA Today. I've edited my original post.
